Get those creative juices moving...

Tomorrow is the first day of winter and already the desire to hibernate has kicked in.  It would be so easy to give in to the need for extra sleep that comes with less sunlight and winter food is a warm and comforting reason to let yourself just shut down.  The idea of spending the next few months in a semi-stupor in front of the television becomes a whole lot more appealing than giving it your all in the gym.  All in all, wintertime is a time where your physical energy seems most depleted and your personal creativity gets sidelined.

It is normal to move slower in the winter.  Our bodies need the time of restoration.  It is part of everyone's normal cycle.  However, when we move through winter without something to motivate and keep our creativity flowing it is really easy to become sluggish and depressed - and who says winter needs to be depressing?

I say this is a great time to revisit what makes you personally tick.  This is a perfect time to grab hold of all the things you keep pushing off to the side because you don't have the time to invest in them. Plan one hour a week and get INTO your comfort zone.  Pick up one thing that you love to do and let the excitement of something that stimulates your intellect and passion give you the needed boost to energize your week.  Let this winter be the most fun you have ever had and then tell me what made it so fun for you!

Here's to the creativity in us all!
